pinterestPinterest is a social network launched in 2010 that allows users to share visual information with each other through the use of boards (categories – basically) and pins (posts).

The network’s audience is mostly female and Pinterest’s relevance to marketers and storytellers continues to grow (as of November 2014).

Pinterest can be used for researching a number of topics that can easily be digested since users often share their information in visual formats. Users can search for recipes, how to reveal their baby’s gender and other information.

Pinterest sends the second-most traffic to websites of all social networks behind Facebook, according to a study published in 2014.

Pinterest is also a great tool for storytellers which can prompt them to push a little harder to share their stories in more of a visual way through infographics that can be short and long and engaging images and photos.
