What influencers should know about Amazon product photos

The most common Amazon product photos on the platform certainly are by brands themselves. But there’s also a play to be made for Amazon influencers that I would like to share here.

Most often, you’ll see these prominently displayed on product pages – like in this example:

These are professionally produced by the companies and uploaded by them as part of marketing the product.

Then we have images that come from Amazon Influencers or even Associates could use photos like this on their website or social media to promote products and drive commission revenue.

So, for the product above, here’s my version:

Those images are often more in the moment and not too overly touched up – like what a brand might do. In my case, I literally just took the shot of the reflection in the mirror with my phone.

In another example, I took a selfie while at the gym of a face and body wash that I was using to take a shower there.

Where do influencer images even show?

Traditionally, they’ve shown on just the influencer’s storefront. And that’s exactly the reason why I hadn’t made product images a priority. Who will even see them on my storefront? Probably not many. Though, depending on product, I could also use them on other networks. But I’m doing more now…

Now, officially, product photos from influencers are not shown on product pages. But, I’m sure I ran across one the other day in the mobile app. Perhaps, Amazon was just testing it, as I have not seen it again.

And brands could ask you to use yours if they like them.

Regardless, for influencers to make these photos work, start taking more pictures. It’s just like when I got started with product videos. I didn’t even know if they were worth my time. And I had zero. Now I have around 1,400 and believe me – they have been worth doing.
