ChatGPT certainly hogs the headlines but another tool – a similar one – that I like to use is Claude AI. But what is Claude AI good for and is it better than ChatGPT?
I’m not sure how we actually determine which tool is better than the other – as they all do very similar things. AI driven marketer Dan Sanchez even said on “The Business Storytelling Podcast” that if one of these AI tools goes out of commission it’s easy enough to just switch to another similar one. He’s not wrong, though, once used to one tool over another the familiarity does breed comfort.
But let’s dive into some of the features of Claude AI that I love and that can really uplevel content strategy.
Claude AI projects
When it comes to what is Claude AI good for, one clear answer is: Continuity. The software calls that projects and you can easily tie all content assets together with:
- Brand guidelines
- Example content: “Here are 2 articles of mine that I like tone and style wise.”
- Standard prompts
- And more
Oncce you have the pro plan, simply create a project and add the stuff that needs to be considered across it.
Job-specific knowledge
A finance person would use AI differently from a marketing person. Claude AI allows users to specify their job title and then uses that information to provide better prompts based on job function.
This can be set up in account settings.
Artifacts
Based on your description, it will create diagrams and other visual content. Here’s one example:
Officially called artifacts, this is an easy way to get some graphics and visual content based on your source content into your article.
Those are some of the things worth using when it comes to Claude AI. Keep in mind that Claude also makes mistakes, but so do other platforms.
Overall, Claude has been a great AI assistant to me. I will continue to test and try new things to see where it fits as my copilot, but never as my autopilot.
