To watch the Super Bowl in 4K offers an additional experience through even better and even clearer visuals of the game. I’m a fan – of football and 4K – and I ensured I have it all set up.

4K is a little bit like high definition was 20 years ago. There isn’t all that much on TV that is actually streamed in 4K. But YouTube TV has been streaming the Super Bowl, as well as one – but not both – conference championship games in 4K.

So here are the steps to stream the Super Bowl in 4k

Step 1:  The equipment

To get started, you need a 4K TV. And it’s possible to get a 55-inch for under $300 currently.

Step 2: The setup

Make sure everything arrives in time and consider the full experience which might mean to install a sound bar or surround sound – if you don’t have that set up already. Make sure you have the right Internet speed and package that can handle 4K.

Step 3: The right TV subscription to watch the Super Bowl in 4K

Sign up for the right package on YouTube TV or if you have another provider on that provider. If you have another provider, make sure that they’re actually broadcasting in 4K. I assume they would be since YouTube TV is, but please verify that ahead of time.

The YouTube TV plan is the basic plan and then 4K costs another $9.99 per month. Of course, you can cancel that 4K upgrade after the Super Bowl.

When you watch, make sure you turn it to the right channel as 4K currently has its own channel, which is different from the main one.

So that’s how you stream the Super Bowl in 4K and I would say that it’s totally worth it. High definition was a big step up 20 years ago, 4K is another step up to improve the viewing experience.
